Importing an AEAE

Hi all,
So ive wanted an AEAE for a while.. found one on ETSY, from a fellow in indonesia.. needless to say importing a plant has its risks.. but the seller has been very good through the process, so hoping the plant makes the journey ok.. he sent me a pic of my plant today, and informed me that the phytocert was complete and they would be packing for shipment today. I ordered over a month ago, and just got the the phyto yesterday! Im concerned about additional delays due to the virus, but gonna try anyhow.
Any tips on what my best action will be once the plant arrives? Obviously it depends on condition, but i'm planning on growing it in a pot this year, and in the ground next year.
Here is a photo he sent me of my plant before packing.

It will most likely take a while to recover when you finally get it.

Congrats and goodluck! :)

If yours ports in FL like mine did from Thailand, I think you will have much much better luck, given your location :)

It's that extra 6 days it took in transit once out of customs I think that did mine in. The entire trip for mine took two weeks. X_x

Glad the plants are doing great in their new home.

Once the red sets new roots .....its gone.:)..:woohoonaner:
It is probably working on a pup or two.

Yea, so sorry for what happened with yours.. im afraid its a definite possibility, as even domestic postal service has been backed up something terrible.

Yep. I knew the risks. I just underestimated HOW backed up things were on this end, and optimistically thought EMS shipping would have evaded those hang ups.

More than anything, I think I cringe at paying that very high shipping price($68!) and the photodocs(35$) just for it to have been useless in the end. :0493:

UPDATE! It made it!!

So I came back from fishing offshore sunday night, and there was my plant on my doorstep! All the way from Indonesia and made it here in 5 DAYS!!!
So what would yall suggest i do to get this plant acclimated and growing. I currently have it in a 20" pot, in cactus potting mix. I think im gonna grow it in a pot this year, and get it in the ground next feb or so..
I know i dont want to overwater it, but i did give it a good drink last night.. it currently is sitting under my large tangerine tree in dappled sun. Thoughts?
