#1 if you put in the ground once you got it quit cutting, don't water it except far away from the stem sparingly. I did the w/ a plant that got beat up in the mail and a month later its grown its roots and is growing actively now. Full sun helped. :^)

I recover my newly arrived 1000 Finger................with the same problem........
Mine spend 2 week in the box................ And arrived in the 2nd half of the Winter...............so it was cold.......... After arrival...........I planted it in the Garden................but I notice the same problem.............. The inner leaf was rotten..............dark brown color............. So..........I potted it.............and with a sharp blade I removed all rotten material............untill I see fresh tissue.............. I fix the Pot.............very close to the Roof............. I have a small roof............made of a transluscent opaque white sheets.......... And I achieve a good warm temperature arround 28 C...........in sunny days...........while out side the temp oscillated arround 10 C.................... Now the Plant have 5 healthy leaves..........and are doing well............. But almost died................. |

Even if the main stem dies, the corm may send up new pups. Don't give up hope.

When all that is left is a hole in the ground, then you can punt. Until then, there is always hope,

Re: If the heart is dead is thr entire plant dead ?
The corm is what is most important. I have some of my bananas rot in the center of the pseudostem over winter and those shoots do die, but new pseudostems shoot up from the corm and do well. What is important in that case is the mass of the corm. A good sized corm will send up shoots pretty quickly. If it was a seedling or Tissue Culture plant with very little corm then it is unlikely that it will survive.

Okey that good to know, but also a bummer because once i throwned away a good massive corm but i had new one instead, this one will survive im sure it has a alright size corm maby a size of a small fist. I will keep you uptadet, probably takes a month at least.
