I purchased this plant as a pup from one of the members here and was told it is an ice cream. I am getting my first bunch.

Any ideas what it might be then? The tall ones in the back on the left said Dwarf Namwah on the pot from the nursery, but they are anything BUT dwarf! They have a new bunch forming now also.

In banana ID it helps not to cut off the flower below the fruit. Pics that help include of the p-stem and showing the petioles clearly in both how open they are and the length. Also helps to see the bases of the leaves coming off the p-stem. Based on the fruit, it could be a number of things, but I'm guessing not Namwah, as the ones I've seen have a slight bluish tint and are more angular. Also take pics of the new bunch as it emerges, which can be very helpful.

The name's cool, but if you drink coffee for the taste - try Blue Mountain.

Don't know where it's being exported now, but when I was living there in the 80's most of it was going to Japan. At that time a cup of cafe there (Japan) was $100 USD.

Well, I don't know what to make of your comments. Is it or isn't it? First you say wrong then you say right but not. So, what is it? Or do you even know?
