Hi all, last month I bought a Variegated Dwarf Namwa. It has been growing great. It is in a 3 gallon pot and is now in full sun. It has put out about 3-4 new leaves since I bought it. It doesn't have a lot of variegation. I'm hoping it's pups will have more variegation. I've been told that the pups of this variety are highly variable. Meaning one pup will have almost no variegation and the next one will have lots. We shall have to wait and see.

I have one also. Some leaves put off more variegation the bigger it gets. Yours might also.

I planted my VDN in the ground a couple of months ago. It appears happy and is growing strong. It really is a fast grower compared to my Variegated Florida and Ae'Ae'. I have been trying to lower the PH in the soil around the plant and it appears to have increased the variegation in the leaves.
It has one pup! The pup is variegated. It is my understanding that the pups from these VDN can be variegated or not variegated. My friend grows VDN and all of his pups so far have had no variegation. Does anyone know if I grow a non variegated VDN pup can it produce variegated pups? I know it is probably best to only propagate variegated pups but I wonder if the non variegated pups can produce variegated pups? If not what do I do with the non variegated pups? Throw them out? PS is 42". Bill |
