Thanks Patty! I can feel the lumps under the petals. 2 have opened so far, and I haven't noticed any scent yet. It's been great weather for the plants this year. I hope it keeps up!

I think you need to post some more shots, Bob. After all, this is likely one of your greatest gardening accomplishments to date and you should show that thing off everyday. Load this thread up with pics of that baby!

If it was mine, I'd be showing 10 shots daily. You worked hard to get to this and you deserve 100% of the glory. You are one hell of a gardener, I must say. That thing is just awesome! Have you called the newspapers yet?

Sure hope you get lots of bananas on it, also. The anticipation is very exciting. Please show it more. We wanna see too...

Well I thought forsure that heavy pollen smell came from my banana flower! I could smell it when I walked past it .... maybe it was coming from another plant but I can't think of anything floral that was nearby!

HBL , I'll post some shots as soon as it does anything at all.... thanks for the compliments..... much appreciated.

Ron.... wish I were growing in Georgia!!!! I guess the challenge of it is the big thing for me up here. If I were in Florida I'd be trying to grow Colorado blue spruce I think

Deb, I didn't notice any scent either but maybe when the first actual flowers come out from under the sepals it will then.... that's what I'm hoping for anyway.

Some of you asked so here it is today, the first two petals on the bud opened and aren't showing anything as expected but there's definitely some strange bumps I expect to end up as fruits under the next sepal which I'm impatiently waiting to open The flag leaf has been bent down with the weight of the bud so I may prop it sooner than later just to be safe.

Here's one more. There is a real,l little one - bottom center that I wasn't sure if it was female, but it's growing. It's the only nana on that hand (4th), so, I got 18 nanas I'm sure you & Anne will have more The rest are all male flowers now.

I don't know why this looks the way it does..pic is s'posed to be at bottom

I continue to be jealous that your IC bloomed before mine, Bob! Mine is putting out yet another leaf. It isn't all the way out yet but I keep hoping that the next one will be shorter and then the flag. Oh well, it'll do it when it's ready I guess.

My 'Cal. Gold' fruit are still developing but no signs of a bud on the 'Raja Puri' yet.
