Hurricane Dean and Martinique's bananas
Hurricane Dean veered away from the Dominican Republic after roaring across Martinique. They have lost 100% of the banana crop and are requesting aid from France. Here is a link to some pictures.

Re: Hurricane Dean and Martinique's bananas
Hi Cassie, I followed the news about hurricane Dean on CNN, but this is worse
than expected i think. I hope they get all the help needed to recover. Ron |
Re: Hurricane Dean and Martinique's bananas
I know this has nothing to do with bananas, but my dad is in New Orleans for tomorrow and my Aunt is in Texas on Vacation, OH and don't forget I have another aunt there too. MOVE SOUTH DEAN! :drum: I haven't watched the weather in a few days, so hopefully it has already gone somewhere else.
Pray for the families of the victims of Dean.:giveflowersnana: |

Re: Hurricane Dean and Martinique's bananas
This was how I felt when I heard that Dean was going to go further south than Houston... :gangstabanana: but I must say it is still very bad because someone somewhere has to be impacted by it. Hopefully they will all get the aid and assistance they need to recover. We were never in much danger of it coming this far north; however, having been one of those unfortuanates who was stuck in traffic trying to evacuate for Hurricane Rita two years ago, I never want to go through that again. I guess it's still better that having a CAT. 5 come roaring through your area, huh? At least I had a house to come back to.
