How to tell if namwah ripe

I planted namwah about 2 years ago, I have had bannans on for several months, but I don't know how to tell if they are ripe, do they turn yellow?

Thanks

Carl

yes bananas will be turned yellow after ripening, but before that they need to make an artificial ripening

Re: How to tell if namwah ripe

The rough rule of thumb is 6 months from flower to being a candidate for picking & ripening off the plant - which is usually done to prevent the fruit from splitting the peel. (not an issue with a few cultivars, like the Orinocos, which can be ripened on the plant.)
This 6 month guesstimate can get extended because of cold weather; I usually don't even bother counting days of less than 55°-65°F.
If your plant flowers in the fall & you have a cold winter, fruit can be hanging for 10 months or more.

Please post a picture if you have a chance. Seeing how far along the fruit is at the moment may help us to estimate how much time you may have left.
