Default How the the pros do it?

Seems like germinating a banana is tough and time consuming so was curious what do the nurseries or smaller growers do that sell bananas?

Just curious here. Most of what I have are palm trees here in Nebraska so of course seed is the only choice for most and not unlike banana seeds some germinate fast, while others super slow.

Are most tissue culture grown? is that better or not as good as seed grown?

Edible bananas are not usually seed grown.. either TC or pup from parent plant. That is why "most" edibles do not have seeds. I would think a commercial nursery would TC their plants.. much more reliable propagation method.

Thanks. Coming from the palm tree world where 99% are from seeds to grow.

Reading that banana seeds are typically long to germinate I wondered how growers did it and grew enough to make money.
