Old hat .... There is an entire forum section for propagation of banana plants and the the forum Wiki has full info about fertilizing bananas. You should post in the correct forum.


Further ... the video you posted has no info about fertilizing bananas and there are much better propagation methods than the one being shown if anyone is interested. ... Most hobby nana growers simply remove pups from the mother plant rather than destroy their mature corm.

Good video selection.
It gives you a good idea how to divide a corm for multiple plantings.


While I have never done yet with bananas ....it looks pretty simple and worth a try.

Use the forum search you can find the discussions where several forum members tried that a few years ago (maybe 10 yrs). It does work but you waste many grow points that hasn't developed enough to show on the corm. ... This is a good way to try to save a plant when the corm has root rot. And, I have been successful doing so with a couple of sick nana plants.



On each ring of sheath growth on the corm at the 'V' junction of joining sheaths there is a growth point. See the thread by louis14 First macro propagation attempt This way you can get many more plantlets from each corm. ... Also there is some evidence that cutting the grow point with an X will give multiple plantlets instead of one. This method has the possibility of producing 50 to more than 100 plantlets per each corm.

I did and do. ... Why don't you post info and pictures about the Bananas you grow instead of videos of other people's work. ... I see you've been on the forum for almost 10 years but made very few post. ... The above post made yourself look like a TRoL. Also you didn't even recognize the video was mislabeled as being info about Fertilizing Bananas when it was actually showing a propagation method. ... So now you want to get upset with me because of your apparent lack of knowledge about growing Bananas. ???? For the amount of time you've been a forum member you should have at least learned a little about bananas.


My last post above simply pointed out there was a better method of propagation and included a link that followed the forum user's trials and results to propagate plantlets for his Banana Plantation. ... It was in no way an attack on you but obviously you have a problem with anyone that has a different opinion than yours.
