Re: how deep?
Plant it at the same depth it was previously planted, or cover the roots.

Re: how deep?
but i don't know how deep it was planted because i recieved a very clean corm without dirt in the mail.

Re: how deep?
i guess what i'm trying to say is.... i don't want it too shallow, so when it grows up it will blow over, and not too deep that wiil cause it to rot and die.

Re: how deep?
plant it so the top of the corm is a couple inches below the soil line.

Re: how deep?
I read an interesting article some time ago on this very topic. It discussed planting suckers at different depths. The suckers that were planted deeper yielded more fruit than the ones that were planted shallowly. Kind of blew my mind, as it sort of goes against what we are commonly told to do, which is to plant with the roots just below the soil surface. This season, I will be planting my corms deeper than I have done so previously. Of course, the soil should be sufficiently warm also. This study was done on a banana plantation in the tropics, so no worries there with cold soil.

Re: how deep?
wow! i think i might just leave mine right where it's at! and if it dies, i'll just get another one and lesson learned. one more question, should i see some sign of life within a week? all i have is a corm pup with no leaves about 2 1/2 ft tall.
