How to bag bananas?
Quick question. How do i bag my bananas on the tree? I have the bags that are open at both ends but nothing to tie. Do I tie them with string tight or leave it very loose? Thanks.

Re: How to bag bananas?
Here in Mexico, either bags or newsprint is used. It is tied at the top with twine and the bottom is rarely seen closed. It is mostly done here to prevent bruising by contact with leaves or stalks.

Re: How to bag bananas?
I make my own bags, but they are open at both ends. I use flagging tape to close both ends. I tend to have problems with thrips and I have noticed the fruit comes out much cleaner if it is bagged and tied on both ends. It also keeps the lizards and frogs out. I also have a bunch of different colors of tape so when I bag everything from a certain week is a certain color.
