Hot Banana!
Yo hey guys me again i hope i dont bug y'all by posting so many threads-but how else is a guy to learn? So anywho here is my question. What would you think about a small electric heating pad/blanket wrapped under and around my banana plant pot? Too hot/Too dry? I do live in Illinois and even by a nice sunny window in the dead of winter a slight chill towards my naner?
Just thought id ask! THANX ROBBY |
Re: Hot Banana!
I use heat mats under my plants that are in my greenhouse. They are set at 70 degrees. They are on timers and go on at 8:00 PM and off at 10:00 AM. I would think that a heat mat made for plants would be better than the heating pad that may get to hot. Hydrofarm makes several size mats and I purchased them mine on e-bay. Good luck.

Re: Hot Banana!
Heat mats are great and last a long time. I've had the same one in use for about 18 years for starting spring veggies and am currently using it for sikkimensis and E Glaucum seeds and seedlings. I got it from Territorial. I've been wondering about having a tropical fish tank in the room as it would throw off heat as well as humidity too if you're in to that sort of thing.
