Re: Holes in the leaves
I assume the holes were present when the leaf emerged. Could be caused by an insect of some sort, a few granules of fertilizer dropped down the emerging leaf causing a burn, etc.
Don't lose sleep over it.

Re: Holes in the leaves
Me......caterpillers or small woodpeckers honing their skills...
Caterpillars do a taste test and the small Downie woodpeckers are working the new found pecker they have on their head.. For me this is common to see a plant with "the mark" Next leaf.....nothing happened. Visit... Last edited by cincinnana : 09-25-2020 at 05:31 PM. |

Re: Holes in the leaves
I guarantee you a caterpillar got to it when the leaf was still rolled up in a cigar and that's why it looks like that. They love fresh tender leaves
How do I know? It happened to a couple of mine and I found the culprit both times coming back for seconds!!

Re: Holes in the leaves
Yeah, that’s happened to me too! I was wondering what kind of yucky bug could be causing it! Now I know! It’s good to know you don’t have to worry about it! Thanks for the info!
