Default Highest yielding bananas?

All other variables being equal, such as soil quality, water, fertilizer, etc., which banana varieties have the highest yield? For those with limited space, this is a big concern. Would it be double mahoi, SH3640,Williams, a FHIA variety? I loved watching the video from Tanzania and want some monster size bunches in my garden too.

I have searched for this info on the site already but am not having luck finding the answer. Although it is true searching is difficult on this smartphone, I am stuck in bed for a week or so due to a foot injury so I am happy to at least have it.

Thanks for any input.

You might want to think about a banana plant that will produce fruit every year. I'm in Zone 10 and the Namwah, Raja Puri and my fake Goldfinger produce every year. Out of those three plants I like the Namwah bananas the best.

I have other plants that produced better bananas, but I only got bananas from those plants once (Dwarf Giant, and Reds). If I had limited space and could only have one banana plant it would be the Namwah banana. I like the taste of the bananas, the yield is good and they produce every year with little care.

FHIA-17
FHIA-1
Williams

Those would be 1,2, and 3 for me. By far the heaviest bunch I have ever harvested was a FHIA-17.

FHIA-25 is supposed to be pretty massive too I've read.

I think the answer depends on your climate. In mine, any of the Namwah varieties would top the list (like Lau said), with "Fake Ice Cream" topping the list. With a warmer climate the varieties with more A genes stop sulking, and you see that in Nick's answer.

Dwarf Namwah makes me feel like I'm really in the tropics. By far my best producer.
