Hey, Red...welcome to the org. Any chance you took any photos of the plants or the fruit? Most likely they are 'Orinoco's, though they could be something different. Your description of the fruit, particularly the part about some of them being bigger than the typical grocery store variety, makes me question if those were 'Orinoco' or not. Most Orinoco fruit in this area isn't over 6" long. Orinoco does have the distinction of being pretty angular, but then so do some other cultivars when they aren't fully mature. If the others were larger and shaped differently, those could well have been something else. Perhaps 'Ice Cream' but that would just be a guess on my part without some photos.

Just a quick bump on this to try to keep it current. Red sent me a PM but apparently doesn't have his settings set to accept PM's so I'm trying to keep my response near the on the first page so he'll hopefully see it the next time he logs on.
