Put them out in light shade for now. The greenhouse wouldn't hurt and may excel their growth somewhat. My musa basjoo clump that's 5 years old already has pseudostems of 3 feet high. They are growing nicely now even though the temps have been cool the last few days. Also check out musa velutina. My clump is of one year is already coming up. It's a very cold hardy banana that's great for Arkansas.

austin is right, put them in the shade to harden them off and when the last freeze date is up for your area then plant them. me personally, i leave mine in the pots for a week after the last freeze date.i think its just in case we get a freak freeze i can run out and bring them in.

The windmill palms are the fan-type palms. They are fully hardy in our area. I also have sagos. If you mulch them well, they will come back each year. I leave all my palms and sagos outside.

Shannon, you didn't provide much details. If your plants are pretty good size and have quite a few roots, go ahead and plant them in the ground if your weather is warm and risk of frost is past. If they are small, pot them up and get them off to a faster start in your greenhouse. A plat that gets off to a good start will do much better than one that is put into a challenging situation in the beginning.

Note: This thread has our second spammer of the day that I'm aware of and it's best to ignore such posts. Responding only encourages such behavior.

Harvey

I've seen some strange posts, quoting somebody like jesus, where I can't find the original post. Can someone explain what is going on?
Thanks.

Just another self-proclaimed Jesus freak gracing our walls with graffiti. They signed up, posted 3 messages and faded into obscurity. I have a feeling 'big brother' is watching them closely.
