Help making my handling of spammers easier
I'm basically the only moderator actively addressing reported posts, etc. and this is a particularly busy time of year for me so I can't always address issues immediately. I'd like to ask some help in making this job I've volunteered for a little easier.
If one user has posted six spam messages, please just report one of them. In your comments in the report you might say "multiple posts have spam", etc. If you report all six, I need to look at all six of your reports to see if they are the same individual causing the problem. I don't need that additional reporting and it serves no helpful purpose. I can easily view all of the spammers posts and delete them at the same time. Please do not reply to or quote the spammer. Doing so means I then need to look at each thread and delete your posts also since the spam is being repeated with your post. What should be a 2-3 minute moderating activity suddenly becomes 10-15 minutes for me. I get an email message when an item is reported but if I see six reports I'm more likely inclined to think "I don't have time to deal with all of that right now" and delay action. Thanks for your help. |
