Re: help!!!
Cory, you'll have to place a classified add. If someone has some there willing to sale then you have a deal. Unless, someone offers you some on the side.

Re: help!!!
Cory, bad news - Ice cream doesn't put out seed, they are sterile. You will have to get a pup or buy a TC plant. Good news is, they're cheap to buy!

Re: help!!!
Those are all seedless varieties, you would have to buy a plant. Most fruiting bananas that you would eat out of hand... are not propagated by seed. (Some people try eating the pink bananas, the musa veluntina) but they are studded with seeds.

Re: help!!!
Cory,
Lady Finger is an edible type, too. As Ahava stated, most any edible, desert-type bananas do not produce seeds. Think about bananas you purchase at the market. No seeds, right? That's because they are sterile (producing no seed). As other members pointed out, you'll need to get a pup from someone. The bananas that produce seeds are generally the inedible varieties such as sikkimensis, basjoo, velutina, ornata, laterita, the Ensete varieties, etc. Don't worry you'll get the hang of it soon enough. I'd recommend reading some of the old posts and exploring the Wiki for information. We'll help you along too! Last edited by Bananaman88 : 08-14-2008 at 12:28 PM. Reason: Forgot something |

Re: help!!!
You might get lucky and get something for the price of shipping but i doubt it would be a ladyfinger, Ice cream, Mahoi, etc. Maybe a basjoo or something like that.
Stick around, learn, and get to know the people around here a little better and you may have more luck finding something cheap.
