Default Heating a greenhouse

I know I don't have to heat a greenhouse right now but I'd like to start planning ahead. Last year I started building a cheap greenhouse to start seed in and put my pineapples in over the winter. This year, my daughter has gotten me back into bananas in a big way. Last year-early this year I couldn't find a smaller space heater to use in the greenhouse. What do y'all recommend as far as a heat source? I would like to stay smallish and prefer to go with propane. My greenhouse is an 8 x 10 lean to that slopes from about 11 feet to about 8 feet. Thanks!

Depending on how cold you truly get, you can try my method, which saves money. You sink several 55 gallon drums into the soil, leaving only a foot sticking out, and fill with water. The heat coming off the water will warm a green house surprisingly well.

It deepens on what you need to do and how warm the greenhouse needs to be. ... I use a 1500 watt electric space heater and set the thermostat to keep the lower half of the greenhouse at 50 deg F. .... The higher up in the greenhouse the colder it will be. The day time temps in the greenhouse can be as much as 40 degs higher than outside ambient air temps from the sun; So you also need to ventilate the heat .... The electric heater doesn't cost that much to operate and only adds $10 or $15 per month. .... Anyway I can start seeds and grow seedling in January & February.

You need to vent a gas heater and watch the plants in the greenhouse. Some do not tolerate combustion/exhaust LP gas well.
