Also, I kind of like the fact that my plants won't get overly huge in smaller pots - don't worry, I know what I'm doing. Besides too, the roots haven't even filled their starter pots yet entirely. I will transplant them a bit later and things will be ok.

Oh, I get the smileys and pictures from the internet. One night I was bored and saved a bunch of them.

Bob - hope you know, I am totally teasing you, and the cracks are not serious at all. You do have a good sense of homor so I figured you'd appreciate being the butt of my jokes! You must admit, some of it is pretty funny.

Hardcore?!!! Check out this one, Jack...

Alright, enough of that - this is a family forum!

HBL, please remember, that it's not only Bob who's reading the threads and some people might think: "What kind of ass*oles are posting here, that they use such a bad language."

Don't overestimate basjoo, many of them die in much warmer climate than your own, it's not a super banana, it's just more cold hardy than others.

Of course, I understand - just letting you know that people in my neck of the woods and colder have had their first year basjoos survive and send up pups the following Spring.

Do you think I should erase the 'would you like to buy a vowel' joke?!!!

There's a saying in my country you know:
"Words one spoken can never be taken back, if someone heard them."
Seriously, just let them there, otherwise we would have to edit lots of posts...

I really did think that wheel of fortune joke was hilarious but I do not have a trucker mouth. In person, I don't swear much at all.

and as my grandmother always used to say...

"and who are you kidding"?!!!

: O

No, but I don't swear much, just thought most people would think it was comical. However, I could be wrong, as some people could find it downright offensive!

Maybe I should delete it. Some forums would boot my butt off, for posting up such a thing! I only meant it to be cute - not rude.

Are you sure, Jack - about not deleting it? After all, there is such a thing as going too far...

I don't know, I don't swear. It's difficult for me to express my opinion on this matter, because as you see, it's your decision. Was anyone objecting?
No. We all understood that you are trying to be funny.

(it's meant as you understood it )

Hey HBL , we're totally cool. I get ya! If you thought I was being a(insert adjective) by my reply, look at the time of my post, I had just got up.........hoping to read some of the Joy that you spread like wilfire around the globe........ok now I'm being a smart*** but I'm awake.
Now as for the "Canadian Girls Rock".......(another can of worms opened , good thing I like to fish)................oh never mind , another time.
Seriously my basjoo experience leads me to believe to start with the biggest corms possible rather than leave an infant in the snow, especially an infant whose pot was too small

There is a lot of common sense in what you're saying, Bob, so I tend to believe it. Besides - why not be safe than sorry.

What will happen in the Fall then, when I bring the basjoo inside for winter? Will it keep growing and then I put it back outdoors next Spring again? Will I get some bananas on it, by next season?

: )

P.S. Glad we're cool, Bob. Everyone thinks we're like an old married couple huh?...

Alright already - quit your nagging! I will re-pot it real soon.

So how can I get my plant to produce ornamental bananas? I thought I had to carry it over for 10 months? Now quit being a joker and explain this to me, will ya Bob?

Basjoos fruit in colder climates at the height of 4,5m, after about 2 or 3 years of growing, if overwintered properly. You might get a bloom late next year or early in 2011.

Jack:

Are talking about keeping the same plant going for 3-4 years? How can one over-winter them properly?
