Default Gros Michel Update 7/31/2011

I'm sure some of you were wondering how the "Bluefields" Gros Michel I have is doing so thought I'd show some pics from today. The mother plant is a little over 6ft tall ( p-stem height) withe the biggest pup at about 5 ft. In the past two weeks numerous other small pups have appeared and I decided today to remove the biggest pup to allow for some more air circulation in my already crowded garden. Here's some before and after shots.
Before pruning:

A closeup of some of the newer pups:

After removing the biggest pup along with some that tagged along for the ride:

Four new potted GM pups. I put them in my own potting soil blend made up of 3 parts peat moss, 1 1/2 parts perlite, 4 parts top quality compost along with some organic fertilizer:

The mother plant as it looks now after filling it in and top dressing with some compost:

I'm going to keep them in the pots for a bit till I'm sure they're well rooted ,healthy and ready to be given to some friends. Don't PM me asking for any this year though unless your name is Mitchel, Brent or Konstantinos! After they get their's I'll be giving the rest away as usual but probably not until next year at this point.
