In the tune of the Beatles Hey Jude! Na Na Na Na Na Namwa!!!!
Lost them all last year in the hurricane so this is a welcome sight. This is from a cut off and replanted stalk so probably smaller than the norm but welcome.

Varieties I supposedly bought: Manzano, Cavendish, Blue Java, Sweetheart, and Gros Michel.
What it seems I actually have: Brazilian, Cavendish, Namwah, Dwarf Red, Gros Michel, Pisang Ceylon, Veinte Cohol and SH 3640, and American Goldfinger. FHIA 1, Paggi and FHIA 17... Always room for one more.

Congratulations. It usually takes about 6 month in San Diego for a bunch to fill in and ripen. If you are really lucky with ideal weather conditions, this might be your first harvest in 2019.

Bummer. I was hoping for 3 months. I have a friend coming down from Illinois the day after xmas and I was hoping to have something ready as mine just threw a pre flag yesterday...
I had 2 nice bunches last year but Irma saw to it I never got to see them ripen...
(Picture me out in 60+ mph winds with pouring rain in my yellow Mickey mouse poncho using two props trying to save the second one once the first went down.)

Thank you, yes I thought the one to the right would go first. There is one on the left from the same time frame so its possible we may eventually have 3. We'll see. I wont be comfortable until hurricane season is over. We had bananas on most of or collection last year and lost all but Orinoco.

Sorry to hear that you lost your bunches last year. Maybe you want to consider one of these solar bunch covers I like to use.
Banana solar bags for bunch protection

If you ever find or invent something that will withstand hurricanes, you will be a VERY rich person.

I have an idea in my head... It involves a lot of PVC, a few nails, some bungee cords and a few sandbags. It's fully adjustable for any size plant and can hold a bunch if necessary. All I need is about $1000 and 3 hurricanes to test it out....
