Got my Ae Ae - Am I done now?
I just picked up a good looking 4' Ae Ae today from BadPun. Provided it survives, I may be done buying bananas. I'm up to 27 different varieties now and a lot of them are starting to look basically the same. I think that I have all of the major differences in size, color, banana shape, etc. covered and my yard it really taking on a jungle look I was going for.
Well,....maybe I still need a Vente Cohol. Here is a shot of the pool though no bananas are in the frame. |

Beautiful shot, and gorgeous landscaping, Peter. How about some more?

Re: Got my Ae Ae - Am I done now?
Beautiful pool! To be honest, thats kind of like my ideal pool, beautiful tropical landscaping, a nice fountain, really natural looking (don't think I didn't see that blooming plumeria!). I think if your going to end buying bananas, Ae Ae's are a great one to end it with! I hope it does well for you! I always wanted one, but I would rather just wait until I move to the tropics! Maybe they will be cheaper by then anyways!
Nice yard! I would love to see more pics!

Re: Got my Ae Ae - Am I done now?
Are you done? I doubt it! Just look at Jon (pitangadiego) -- with about a hundred varieties and you'd swear nowhere to put anything new, he still manages to plant new varieties by replacing ones he already had that didn't work out. It's an addiction!

Re: Got my Ae Ae - Am I done now?
Going Bananas and Logee's both sell Veinte Cohol. But I think the consensus so far among people who've bought them is that it hasn't lived up to the hype. It is apparently not cold tolerant, not a real fast grower, and makes very small bunches of so-so fruit. But give it a try and let us know what you find.

If you can stop at 27, you were never really in the game - just pretending.
