Default Goldfinger's First Bloom - in November!?

The Goldfinger finally made it for this year. It was cold here last week - 59L/74H. If the fruit develop that's fine. If not, there is a big fat pup right behind mama naner for next spring.

Gfingr

Luis,

This is zone 9B and we saw 2 short lived frosts last year. Older leaves yellowed and were cut off when they browned up. A few of the banana guys I trade with, in the West Palm Beach area, have warned me that PSL is just over the edge of the average no frost line. Also, I'm about 10 miles from the beach so the moderating influence of the sea is slightly lower.

That's why I make sure one big pup and one little one stay on each mat for backup next season. I pull all the others to pot up for trade. Got about 60 potted pups now which the wife is just thrilled about - yeah, right!

The mapper says you live in Carolinas. I remember passing thru on the way to some of the best seafood ever in Fajardo on several vacation trips.

If you need some pups let me know.

Dan,

Yes. I know what you mean. I try to tell my wife that those black pots are there "temporarily", but after six months I have to find another excuse.
Well... nobody's perfect.

Maybe we can exchange. Let me know if you would like to have doble mahoi, niņo banana or plantain.
