Is growing goldfinger in zone 9 (with no extreme summer heat and cooler nights) a lost cause. I picked one up because I got it cheap and I have it in a good southern facing spot. It's currently about 18 inches and pushing a new leaf. Anyone grow this one in marginal climate with success? I'm thinking it will choke.

It should do just fine. I am in zone 8b or nine. Mine spent the winter in an unheated plastic greenhouse and are doing well.
