Default G-9 banana plant?

I'm just curious, what exactly is a G9 banana plant.

That's what I think it I'd too, but is it Gran Nain or some kind of hybrid Gran Nain?

I think it is not likely to be a hybrid for a number of reasons.

I'm still learning all of this cavandish stuff. Lol thank you for your help. I actually have a Gran Nain that us about 7 feet tall and it looks like it is really close to throwing up a flag leaf. They are getting smaller so I'm hopefull.

I know for it to be happening in spring is awesome. It's getting pretty warm here in Missouri so the bananas are going outside. I'm just glad I had a building with some skylights to keep them in over winter. Didn't hardly lose any of last year's leaves and no spidermites so I'm definitely hopefull.

It's a hybrid with the 2n progenitor coming from the Mlali subgroup.

The Pome subgroup also has the same 2n progenitor.

Thank you PR I've been looking some of that up and it is very interesting how the plants come about.
