Wow thats amazing can you it aeae fruit and if you can is it good?

Yes, it's edible and good. Maybe a little more tart than the store bought bananas.

A friend from Puerto Rico shared some dried long slices of Ae Ae fruit and it was very good. He doesn't particularly care for banana fruits but said he thought the Ae Ae was better than other bananas he had tried drying.

The ripe ones I've eaten were OK, more starchy than a grocery store Cavendish and not quite as good. Cooking brings our their best. Cooked they are excellent, with great texture and flavor with a nice touch of acidity to balance the sweetness. (Thanks to BadPun for the Ae Ae fruits. )

I'm pretty sure Ae-Ae was traditionally a cooking-type banana, though it can be eaten ripe as well.

Oh that is probably the best looking fruiting ae ae banana that I've ever seen. Great variegation in the fruit and plant. Great speicemen. Thanks for posting Steve.

I fertilize my ae ae on the ground with home made compost and some dark topsoil. After few days I flooded it with water. Now the new leaves are coming out with more green. Very little white in it. They gray variegation blended with green, so it’s hard to see. What should I do to get the variegation back? Can I try ash or palm fertilizer?

I have used composted chicken manure for years on my Ae Ae. The variegation changes little from leaf to leaf. I've also used the same granular fertilizer that I use on my azaleas and camelias which is for acid soil loving plants. These seems to keep them looking good.
