Flower Bracts
Why are all the flower bracts once they open drop off the plant none of them are staying on the bloom. Could it be because it is inside in a pot? We have cold winters so I bring them in and my ice cream banana developed a bloom but as it is opening the little bracts that become the bananas are falling off the bloom.

Re: Flower Bracts
Are the bracts falling off or the premature bananas falling off? If its bracts that's just genetics. Also are u sure its not the male flowers after all the female flowers (bananas) are done that are falling off?

Re: Flower Bracts
My first thought is that these are male flowers, and they always drop off.

Re: Flower Bracts
They are the bracts that are falling off not immature bananas. I thought all the ones opening at first are female and then later ones male. The ones that have fallen off so far are the first ones that were exposed after the fluorescence started peeling back leaves and revealing them. I wish I could post pics but don't know how. All my pictures are on Picassa.

Re: Flower Bracts
Please link to your picassa. The bracts are the petals that are peeling back. Im still not sure what exactly is falling off.

Re: Flower Bracts
By looking at the pic you posted it is the clusters of female flowers...are those the immature bananas? I am a novice never had one of mine bloom. They are all falling off as the maroon colored leaf curls up and exposes them. Anyone know why that might be?
