Re: Florida
It appears to be an AA cultivar. It grows fast and has a short fruiting cycle.
Still haven't gotten an Emerald Florida but would expect the all green version to do better.

Re: Florida
The color is stunning on this one though. I would love to have one just for the contrast, where can I get one? I tried to do some research on these but couldn't find much about them. if you know where we can get ahold of one I would be interested. Also like to know how cold sensitive it is and how the fruit tastes. thanks!

How short is the fruiting cycle? Shorter than a Veinte Cohol?

Re: Florida
Difficult to believe... That's about how long it takes to grow tomatoes... In places where they grow well, like, not Florida.

Re: Florida
It's common from some folks only to view growing bananas from their skill set and growing conditions, but most bananas plants can be grown quickly.
There's a thread on flowering an AAB Huamoa which is a much larger plant and produces a giant bunch in about five months, maybe it was a little less, but regardless and photos were posted on a regular basis throughout the entire process. And it was grown in a pot which really helps speed things up a lot.

Re: Florida
We had a couple good frosts this year along with no rain since the hurricane. Everybody's bananas around here look terrible. How nice it would be to have regular rains and no cold nights in winter to stress my bananas.
I should start a gofundme to move to Kauai...

I bought my Musa Florida for $60 shipped. They normally rage from $50-$100. https://www.ebay.com/itm/182488539921 Also this seller I have dealt with several times and is a great seller. You would have to verify with PR Giants but I'm pretty sure it's where he got his Musa Florida, Musa Dwarf Namwa, and maybe others. He also ships the plant in soil in a pot! He doesn't even cut the pstem to ship like others do he ships the entire plant UNCUT with all leaves intact. Can't beat that! Also that costs more to ship from him to you, so you can figure that extra expense into the price. The first plant I got from him 2 years ago or so was overwatered. He has corrected this and the last 2 were in perfect condition. I know of 2 friends who's also arrived in excellent condition! This is a Big one! See the XXL 4 Footer in the title! He sends this whole 4' plant. Not a single leaf cut off. You may end up getting fruit in 3 months! He sells smaller ones for less. https://www.ebay.com/itm/332144600258 Hope this helps you guys find one! Feel free to pm me I can explain details or send pictures of how they arrived, etc.
