Joy FHIA Banana Spacing

I plan on planting FHIA 1,2,3, 17 & 23. In addtion to good fruit I want the trees to do double duty as a "green screen". What is the closest spacing I can do between trees & rows without interfering with fruit production or maintenance.

Also with the trees I've listed is there any differnce in heights or are they all 10-12 foot varieties?

Thanks

I wouldn't think spacing would affect fruit production. Remember in the wild bananas grow in large clumps all together. If you put them close together though, say within 4-5 feet, make sure you split off your babies after they get so big (1-2 feet) so that it doesn't overtake where you've put them. Just space as needed!

If the "green screen" is important to you then you will need the leaves from one plant to mix with the leaves of another. The leaf span on those when fully grown should be about 6-8 feet from the pseudo stem. They actually measure longer when laid flat but they don't grow horizontally until they are older and start hanging down a bit.
