FHIA-18 vs Manzano
Greetings. I was wondering if anyone could help compare and contrast Manzano and FHIA-18. The only thing I found was that FHIA-18 was a bit more hardy, but otherwise very similar.
There is an upcoming plant show where Going-Bananas will be present. I'm trying to reserve a few varieties ahead of time and I'm having a hard time deciding between these two. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. |
Re: FHIA-18 vs Manzano
I wouldn't say they are all that similar. The fruit of both have some tartness, but that's about it for similarities. Manzano is a taller, more slender plant, with a smaller bunch. FHIA-18 has droopier leaves. Manzano fruit are essentially inedible until very ripe, at which point the can be excellent, or not. If I could only grow one of those two, I'd choose FHIA-18, but I'm growing both for now.

Yields with FHIA-18 are going to be much higher than manzano. |
