![]() I put on a few pictures of the yard, etc in my gallery if anyone wants to look. Also there are pictures of bananas for sale, people weren't liking the shipping quotes I was giving out, but if you look at the pictures you'll see they aren't all that small of a plant.

![]() Very nice pictures! What is your arbor made from? I love the "natural" look of it. Cane and grapevines maybe?
Unfortunately shipping is high. Unless you actually ship things very often you don't realize how high it has become. Those do look like good size plants - I love those Siam Ruby! Thanks for letting us take a peek.

![]() The arbor is made from bamboo grown in my yard. I had a little bit of dieback last winter since it got down to -25 with howling wind and no snow cover at the time. But you sure can't tell looking at it now....

![]() I'm glad to hear your plants are doing well, Cheryl.
It's fun to have a greenhouse in the winter, until the LP gas man comes to call! And unfortunately, he comes too often...BUT It is really nice on a sunny day in January to drag out a couple of lawn chairs, put on a tank top and shorts under your long sleeved clothes, mix up a pitcher of margaritas and a Jimmy Buffett cd and go sit in the greenhouse, then get all stripped down to those shorts and tank top and pretend that it's summer. You can actually get sunburned and tipsy at the same time on a good day! Unfortunately, then the sun goes down and it's back to heat on!

![]() It's the smokin' kind, but I don't smoke. I think it's ornamental looking just the same.I just like to watch it grow, and of course I cut it down in the fall and dry it out anyway. I have heard that it makes a good bug killer if you soak a dry leaf in a quart jar of water overnight and then use that water (without the leaf) in a spray bottle and spray the bugs.
It's fun to watch it go from a tiny tiny seed, smaller than a period at the end of these sentences to 7-8 feet tall over the summer.

I admire your dedication, It takes a lot of work to have a yard like that. Any chance you would sell me some tobacco seeds. I've never seen one like that before, what a cool looking plant. Do you ship your plants internationally with Phyto's? Love to buy a bunch of plants, but learned that without an Import Permit and the Phyto. accompanying the plants, it's almost impossible to get them into Canada. |

![]() I could sell you some tobacco seeds. I've never had any kind of tobacco blight, though. Don't even tell me about it, it seems once you hear about something you get it!!!
I don't think it's a problem with certificates, etc to ship seeds, but no I can't send plants to Canada or anywhere outside of the country. It's even tricky to send them to California, and Puerto Rico and Hawaii, unless you're growing on benches and in soilless mix.

them is required. Just write "Garden Seeds" on the Customs Declaration. Plants arn't a problem as long as they are accompanied by the Phyto. and the Importer has an import permit, which I do. And the plants are shipped free of soil. ![]() Last edited by wolfebc : 09-06-2009 at 12:09 PM. Reason: removed personal info |
