![]() i usually rely on black kow compost, home made compost and organic liquid fertilizers like fish emulsion however i purchased a huge bag of granular fertilizer during my visit to going-bananas. i only use it during our rainy season which is staring now. its Potash biased (the last number) so to answer your question both fertilizers being equal use the second one with the higher last number balance

![]() 24-8-16 would be good for citrus. For my nanas I use 15-5-30 from Tropical Delights.

![]() Jeff, it used to say "banana fuel" on the bag but it's same stuff made by Tropical Delights. I guess other ppl/places are calling their fert 'banana fuel' too. I've been getting it thru wellspring gardens. Good stuff & you don't need much.
Banana Fertilizer - 2 Lbs.

![]() 24-8-16 is a good ratio for Citrus and ornamental bananas. 18-18-21 is a common formula for fruiting vegetables - especially tomatoes and is an o.k. choice for fruiting bananas.

![]() If you live near the ocean you can collect seaweed, rinse it with fresh water and mound it around your plants. Seaweed is rich in minors and is an excellent fertilizer. The native americans also used to bury fish remains and let it compost into the soil.

![]() there's plenty of kelp, irish moss, etc that wash up that's free. I'd suggest getting a couple 5 gallon pails with lids to keep the marine scent out of your car.

![]() I use Gro-Well 28-8-18, and have had good success with it for my bananas and palms. Richard carries it at PlantsThatProduce.com.

![]() I hear yah Howard... I got the banana fuels that start with 15 and 20 and the high potash. I think its 30. I used to buy fertilome with the high middle number for my roses. For what I buy 6 lbs of that stuff + tax locally I can get 25 from Richard and its like getting 18lbs free (more beer $$) & it pays for the shipping. I don't have to worry about running to the store anytime soon.. lol :^) My Roses have numerous blooms and look better than they ever have, so the wife's happy therefore I'm good to hook. :^)

![]() The Tropical Delights Brand 15-5-30 "Banana Fuel" and the Grow More Brand 15-5-30 "Banana Fuel" are the same water-soluble fertilizer. As far as I can tell, the only difference is the price. It appears that the Tropical Delights Brand is simply the 25-lb bag Grow More 15-5-30 repacked in smaller bags.
