exciting news
The first and biggest of my replacement bananas has thrown up a pup - so now I am looking for a flag each day. When that happens I will be looking for opinions as to what it might be - never saw fruit from it ripen in the wild. All the rest are looking good but not as big as this baby at 10ft. Even the orphan from the lagoon has started to move and the icecream from Jarred is looking gorgeous. They have even survived the pounding from the dogs. But I am so impatient!!!! Pictures later when I can prise the camera from my husband's grasp!!!!

Re: exciting news
You can get a hint of when the flag is coming by the last large leaf, it'll probably be a tad smaller than the prior large leaf. Look closely ;)
Glad to hear the IC is doing good. How's the Apple? |
Re: exciting news
I'm looking forward to seeing pictures!

Re: exciting news
It has been so dry here for the last month - even the weeds are wilting - most unusual for us as we normally have a short shower every other evening.
And we have had visitors from Australia to stay - they have gone but we are organising a beach bbq and pig roast for 50+ on Saturday. Apart from being threatened by hurricanes Dean and Felix which turned away thank goodness, Jim has been in the hospital with a severe irregular heartbeat which medication seems to be helping. When friends say "what do you do with your time?", I hardly know how to reply. lol. So apologies for the lack of posts and pictures - normal service will be resumed shortly! |
Re: exciting news

Re: exciting news
Here is the little apple Jarred - hasn't she grown! They mostly all still have rebar protection against rough dogs and careless gardeners. In the second picture you can see the orphan from the lagoon behind on the left and it is still so much smaller in spite of being in the ground much longer. In the early mornings when the banana leaves have small pools of water collected in them, hummingbirds come down and bathe on them, but they are so quick that they have eluded the camera so far - one day though...... |
Re: exciting news
