If I understand correctly, 'Abyssian Red' is what some call Ensete Ventricosum Var. Maurelii. Ensete Ventricosum is larger and all green with a red mid-rib in the leaves.

Ensete Ventricosum and the Ensete Ventricosum Maurellii are the same plant its just that some times the Normal green Ensete Ventricosum produces a seed that will come out red so we call it Ensete Ventricosum Maurellii. red Abyssinian Banana is a pseudonym for the Maurellii sorry if thats confusing but genetically they are identical plants the one you want is the red one "Ensete Ventricosum Maurellii" or "red Abyssinian Banana"
