Ensete glaucum
Who's growing them? I'd love to see some pics! I'll post pics later today if anyone's interested.

July 2009
November 2009 May 2010. It lost all it's leaves over the winter. It was the only banana plant in that area that was harmed by the cold. It didn't even start growing until mid-April, but it's catching up quick. |
Re: Ensete glaucum
I had some last year and gave most away. Trying from seed again.

Re: Ensete glaucum
Mine is just up and putting out it's first leaves.

Re: Ensete glaucum
One thing i love about Ensetes is how fast they grow. When a new leaf emerges, another is half way out already.

Re: Ensete glaucum
I hae one I just planted it out, trimmed off all the leaves. it stored well in the basement over winter. I'll take a picture when it starts growing and looks like something. It's about 3.5 feet tall, trunk height.

Re: Ensete glaucum
It has been one year since the first picture in this thread was taken, so I thought i'd post an update. :D
The stone pillar is about 7' tall. You can thank the 110-115F temperatures this week for the crispy leaf margins... |
