yes, along with many other names such as cuban red, carribean red, indio, colorado, macaboo, johnson, red dacca is tall red and I think ive seen the dwarf refered to as dwarf red dacca before too, there are lots more names as well.

Thanks Gabe ! and thanks Momoese for asking ! I've wondered this as well .
One can find facts about all of these names on the net and they are mostly contradictive of one another . But ,as we all know , growers have completely different results with plants in the microclimates they provide for them . In addition ,there are always sports/ mutations to consider .

Dwarf or Tall, all the reds I have tasted have been similar, and have a recognizeable "red" flavor. However, even DJR and DR have had different growth habits for me - some stouter, some a little taller, some more vigorous, but in the end, the flavor was largely the same if not identical.
