Seems like about a year, though I don't remember exactly when I got it.
The sword suckers are like fire logs. I have several varieties but none are as prolific as these. They could possible take over the world. Planet of the Bananas; yikes! Not that I don't love bananas but a good mango or sapodilla is had to beat too.

Hi All!
I have read on the sapodilla... There are some exotic ways to incorporate them into desserts!! I love to bake, love chocolate pudding, Hmm...I wonder? I've never tasted them...are they easy to grow? Will be checking them out again... Thanks for the inspiration!!! ~CherylPlanet of the Bananas..LOL ![]()

Just keeping y'all updated; hope you don't mind.
The last picture was the 14th it is now the 18th, the flower has grown at an incredible rate. The honey bees love it, I have seen more bees on this flower than any other I have grown.

Well from my experience this will be about the end of the fruit flowers.
There are about ten healthy hands so far but the rest may not develop into Bananas. The Bananas are a gorgeous green, lighter than the other species I have grown an almost iridescent. Lets hope the hurricanes stay away!!!

Hey Bob; I really don't know how long the Dwarf Namwah take to ripen.
I have a Brazilian that takes 6 months it seems. My Mahoi get ripe pretty quick 3 to 4 months. I have another bigger banana, don't know what kind, I was told it was an Apple but they look like a plantain or what we call horse banana, that flowered back the first of May that are just now getting full. Hopefully the DNW will make some great Christmas gifts if I don't eat them first. ![]()

That is one beautiful bunch of bananas! Hope they ripen nice. Let me know how they taste as I've never had this type before.... Heck! I've never had any homegrown bananas before! Here in Indiana you only seem to get what the grocery store has.. Good luck!
