Wow! Nice plants, Cheryl. Would you mind PMing me the seller's name from eBay? Uh oh...now I am getting into trouble. Unless Scott wants to toss a pup in the mail my way!

Beautiful plants, guys. Cheryl, yours will look like Scott's in no time!

Here's the latest pics of my new favorite cultivar. Although the Japanese beetles find it their new favorite as well.

Of course where I go the dogs follow. I had pulled a few of the leaves that were bent out from the p- stem thinking that the collected water might casue some rot.

There were roots pushing out from the bulbous portion(it's starting to swell just a little.)

and I was happy to discover it's first pup!
I was tempted to give Hollyberry a hard time over her "Plant Love Syndrome" till I realized that I felt the same about this little guy!

Bob, if you are a sane man, you will cover those "roots" with soil. It is no roots, but eyes for new sword pups. So you've got about 3 more pups coming your way. Just cover it with soil and they will start pupping real soon.

It's a standard 15 gallon trade pot that I bought my needle palm in originally. I was debating repotting and decided not to until next spring when it goes in the ground.

Cheryl, you will be surprised how fast and consistent their growth is compared to some others.

Most of my plants are in the ground and I've found they actually do better. The ones in pots grew more vigorously in spring and those in the ground quickly caught up and overtook them by beggining of July. I decided to keep the D. Namwah in a pot because it's next to where I sit out on the deck and thought I could baby and enjoy watching it's progress a bit more. Next year it's going in the garden.
Some that I think have the best chance of flowering next year will go in pots to overwinter on the front porch with 400 watt metal halide(with a light mover) and plenty of ambient light. The rest or at least what I can't fit will be overwinterd with the "bigdog" method. This will be my first winter giving that a shot.

conejov, I probably wont have too many pups for a few months since the first one just popped up. They are very inexpensive on ebay where I got mine.

I am trying to take a picture of this every day or two just to show how fast the DNW Develops. The bud on this puppy is huge, I have heard great reports on taste, so I am excited! There are some dates in my DNW album. The plant in the back ground is a Black Sapote, also know as Chocolate pudding fruit.

Just curious, how many months did it take to spit that bud out?
