Dwarf Cavendish Flag Flower?
Hello everyone,
New to the forum and so excited to have found this group! I have been growing a dwarf Cavendish in a pot and it has been doing awesome! It has been putting out a new leaf about everyday and getting big. However the last several days I have noticed some changes such as the pups not growing very fast and they were growing huge quite quickly. The plant has put out this smaller leaf at the top and it has been this way for a few days when I was getting a nice large leaf pretty much every day before! Maybe its my hopeful imagination, but do you think it might be getting ready to flower? [IMG][/IMG] |

Re: Dwarf Cavendish Flag Flower?
Welcome to the banaheads... A proper introduction can be done in the member introductions forum, but glad to have you anyway... A pic from the side and maybe a foot or two further away would be more helpful. Right before flowering they usually have a shorter leaf, though. Hard to tell anything with that pic, though.

Re: Dwarf Cavendish Flag Flower?
Looks like a normal leaf to me. Plant may have paused for some reason and is now resuming growth. It's normal. Not sure where you live but the TX heat here causes my cavendish types to do that sometimes.

Re: Dwarf Cavendish Flag Flower?
One leaf a day is insanely fast, are you sure it was really that quick? A normal growth rate is one leaf every 5-7days, perhaps it's slowed down to normal growth. It does not look like its about to flower from your photo.
