Double Mahoi

Anyone have a plant labeled as 'Double Mahoi' actually produce a double raceme. Mine only puts out single racemes and is no different than 'Dwarf Cavendish'. I bought mine online and it was a tissue culture plant.

During the first couple generation you will get only once bunch from one plant. Succeeding generations, and if you're lucky, the next generation pups will put out more than one bunch per pseudostem, but depends on growth, health and overall size of your mat. Yes the fruits are no different than other cavendishes. There is also a chance of mislabeled plants. I don't think we will be able to attain double bunches in Northern California, as the pseduostem dies back to the ground completely each season, let alone fruit just one.

BTW, Double Mahoi seems to be redundant. Mahoi already means twin. So Double twins means 4, but could happen under excellent conditions in the tropics.

This cultivar is another Dwarf Cavendish. it hasn to at least fruit once from the same mat in order to start producing double or triple bunches, that means if you seperate a pup, even if the mother has already fruited once or more, the pup will have to do that same, it kinda restarts the cycle for the pup when you take off the pup and plant it. 2-3 divisions of the bunch is normal, but I know of at least one that produced over 7 before becoming too stressed.
