Dont throw away depleted looking mother corms after fruiting

For those of you that are curious and learning, this is a mother corm from a Tall Orinoco that fruited and started to die back. I dig and store mine under the house each year in winter (Orinoco is the best for this I think), I salvaged all the visible pups from this corm, cut the dying pstem off, and potted it up to see what would happen with no visible pups. Even with no visible pups, and just very small barely visible growth eyes (Had to really look), it started to push pups 3 weeks later. Death seems to be limited only to the old pstem, not the underlying corm that is very much alive. This might be a water pup but it is very vigorous if it is, 3 more pups have started to emerge, and the pot is getting distorted and may burst soon lol. Dont throw away your spent mother corms if you are trying to increase your numbers, and dig and store like I do.

Makes sense I guess, a corm is a corm and the more corms the better:0519:! Will be trying this ASAP!
