Do bananas fruit year-round in San Diego? Where else?
 

Hello everyone, new user here. Sorry if this was posted already or in a bad section but I couldn't find anything on it.

I've been trying to find information on many plants fruiting times for the lower states.

Do banana plants in San Diego fruit all throughout the year? If not when do they? I know the climate isn't tropical but I also know it doesn't get into freezing temps and is relatively warm all year.

What other States in the US have a good climate to produce bananas year-round? I'm guess south fl, tx, and California are about all? (aside from the islands of course)

i dont know about San Diego but here in the fl keys (zone 11) they will fruit almost all year.

Yes, banana plants down here pretty much flower and fruit at any time of the year. I do have three bunches hanging right now. They showed their first hands in September, October and January.
But what you need to keep in mind is, that bananas need some nicer warmer temperatures to fill in and than to show at least some yellow ripening. Here in San Diego it takes at least 6 month for them to do that from appearance of the first hand.
