Direction of flower head
I have three banana plants shooting their flower heads now. Sweetheart, Dwarf Brazilian and Dwarf Namwah. Their flowers are all hanging to the SSW direction. Is that the norm?

Re: Direction of flower head
They flower the Direction away from the Mother plant or away from the cut from the mother thus when planting a pup you can orient the plant initially so you know where the fruit is going to go (like not over your fence onto neighbors property).. :^)

Re: Direction of flower head
You can flip them to the opposite direction if you need to.

Re: Direction of flower head
I always mark my pots when potting up a pup the opposite side of the cut so I know how to orient the pot before I put it in the ground.. In a pot you can always spin it.. :^)

Thanks for sharing, I had did not know this. I used to just plant or pot them up, but now I will mark the direction and consider this first! |
