Working with small pups is what I enjoy about macropropagation.
Here's a bunch of variegated Florida pups.

The Florida water sucker would grow during the day and get eaten at night until I moved it to a more secure location. Soon I'll be able to see what the variegation looks like.

You can find more macropropagation information then you'll probably need in most macropropagation manuals and the other things are just common sense.
Growing points emerge above leaf scars and leaf scars are generally very close together so by increasing the distance between leaf scars that leaves more room to work. It's important to know that scars from modified leaves are the same as scars from true leaves, the main difference is speed. Modified leaves are produced much faster than true leaves mainly because modified leaves do not have leaf blades.

By laying a mature growing point on it's side, the resulting growth will curve upwards while quickly producing modified leaves but also spacing them further apart than normal leaf scars.

This is a good example of modified leaf scars and their spacing while growing in a curve but it's important to understand that this is a young growing point and not a mature growing point.

I can also confirm this method works. Low light and speeding growth is another easy method.

Interesting. I just finished watching a bunch of videos on how they do macropropigation with bananas in Africa. They refer to it as the PIF technique. Not sure if it is the same thing you are doing.

Your modified leafs scars picture won't show up for me for some reason.

This was a pleasant surprise. I hand pollinated this hand in pouring rain and wasn't confident it would be successful. It turned out to be more successful than doing it on a dry day, so going forward I'll be spraying the female flowers first.

It's all about learning and improving from different experiences.

Good morning sir,
I am located in Canada, i have been looking extensively for a rhizome of variegated banana but wasn't able to find it in Canada, will it be possible that i can buy it from you, if yes let me know the cost and shipping to Canada. We are just a young couple who are trying to grow all tropicals in our backyard experimenting with palms tropical flowers and fruit so far it has been successful with no supplemental heat, but for variegated banana i ld definitely build a small green house.

When we have seeds available they're usually listed on ebay but I wouldn't recommend variegated acuminata diploid seeds for growing in NH. It would be much easier to grow variegated seeds with balbisiana genes, like a variegated Tani.

I really enjoyed sharing bananas with members here but as my collection has grown I've had less and less time to participate on the forum. Unfortunately the messaging is the most time consuming part of sharing bananas and I haven't had the time. I've gotten many requests to resume selling the $15 aeae and when I have the extra time I'll get back to it. But in the meantime the best I could do is to sell boxes of variegated bananas to a few members and let them be responsible for the messaging and distribution.
