Cutting of the Stalk?
Have had my banana plant indoors all winter and now that its outside it doesn't seem to want to grow. Should I cut off the stalk to start new growth? If so how low should I cut it?

Re: Cutting of the Stalk?
NOOOO! DON'T DO IT! It's probably still adjusting to the outdoors - give it more time but whatever you do don't cut it off. That will kill it.

Re: Cutting of the Stalk?
I wouldn't say that for sure it would kill it. I think that would depend on how far back it is cut and the overall health of the plant. That being said, I certainly would not advise cutting the stalk back. As Lorax stated, it's probably still just adjusting. Give it some time and I think you'll see growth resume in a week or so. Just be sure that you are slowly acclimating it to the sun!
