What to do??

Hi brydon,

i don't think it is normal for the leaves to curl up like this, but I don't know either what is causing it.

the only thing I can tell you is what i did when my Accuminata Sumatrana did the same. I cut the leave at the leave mid rib, verry carefully, without harming the new leave inside. then I removed the curled leave part to free the inner leave. It doesn't gets the beauty-nanner-award, but it works cause the new leave can grow freely now. I had to do this twice (cut bad leave - good leave - cut new bad leave - 2 good leaves) and now it's growing perfectly.

I also have the same problem. It is now day two of this. The mid rib has kinked and split from the leaf at the bottom right side.

My leafs have not yet came up like marenmars photo. My DC opens up like a cone. It seams like my bloodleaf stops growing straight up and half the leaf stops growing?
the other leaf I cut in half and then took another half of half =] bad wind damage the night it opened.

Edit: I went out after posting and decided to fix this. I pull gently unrolled as much lower leaf as I could and found the line where it was fixed to the new leaf and pulled apart.
I lost the lower inch and half off the right side of the new leaf but it will be fine. The new leaf was in their about 5-6" inches but looks good, was not kinked like I said earlier just bent.
If anyone cares to see I will take pics just let me know

Hi brydon,

a fellow South Carolina grower here, i'm not sure whats causing it, I have a Musa Little prince doing something similar, it was kept inside all winter then brought out and repotted. Have u repotted recently? also we have had a lot of rain which could be causimg a very rapid growth rate, meaning new leaf could be growin before last one finishes unfurling. I see ur growing in containers as am I right now. Hope this helps any, let me know or feel free to pm me

Alex

Hey Alex,

thanks for your reply. No I haven't re-potted recently.

I took the advise from Marenmar and cut the leave since the trapped leave was already was bending on the base.

And you are certainly not kidding about the rain we had lately

The reason i am interested in the question is my Little Prince has beendoing the same thing and keeps doing it. It has done it for 4 leaves now.

We just had a tornado here about 30 minutes ago, al hell broke loose, 3 inches of rain, baseball sized hail wind and tornado damge everywhere
