That's cool Anna! I have been searching for vintage tin banana signs but they are really hard to find!

Mark, Jesus was Jewish and the day began at sunset (or, as I'm told by a Jewish friend, it is specifically when the 7th star is visible), so Anna was well within a reasonable custom to open up gifts by 10pm. Besides, our family always opened up gifts on Christmas Eve as well!

I was just messing with Anna. No worries. The wind is picking up here. Went out to check on my bananas. Tied down the big ones(over 8 feet) rest are in wind protected areas. May see gusts to 65mph here. Better tie down the house!LOL. Anna. you going to do some after x-mas ebay shopping? HAHAHHA!!

Ok, i just watched 2 transformers blow!! getting gusts to 60 in my area right now. Bananas are ok. They can take a pounding. so happy that the leaves shred or it would be "timber" time right now.

Scandanavian countries opened gifts on Christmas Eve (the secular holiday), because Christmas Day was a religious holiday. That is the tradition that I have known my whole life, and parents and grandparents before me.

That is interesting! My family background is Polish and German. Maybe that is why we, too, always opened gifts on Christmas Eve?

miss anna, our parents always let us open one present on christmas eve. the rest had to wait till christmas morning. if christmas fell on a sunday we had to wait till we got home from church, and after we had dinner. your present that you got was awsome. he did a great job picking that out. i didnt know they had art like that. my favorite is claud monet( hes my hero).( vincent v.g. is another fav of mine.) when i start painting again (oils) i have a pic of his that is the waterlilies. i want to try and copy it in the oils. waters are great, but oils give more control. im happy you got a really nice piece of art work for christmas. this kind of present shows someone has a good eye for art.
