![]() INIBAP has joined with IGPRI to become Bioversity International. This is an international organization working to improve bananas.
Of particular interest is their PUBLICATIONS section which contains a number of interesting docs on banana topics. I have posted a couple already. http://bananas.bioversityinternational.org/ These folks have germplasms of banana varieties at various facilities around the world. An interesting document (15 MB) is one on a banana collecting mission to Papua New Guinea: http://bananas.bioversityinternation...musalogue1.pdf Check out their site. They have 5 types of Hawaiian bananas but we have never been able to get their attention. Does anybody know anybody at this group?

![]() If you want to get in touch with the ITC genebank (INIBAP Transit Center), email Ines van den Houwe, she runs the gene bank and could help you with preserving the Hawaiian bananas you find. Go to the Bioversity site and search for her on the BRIS database.

![]() Hello all,
I posted about this site last week sometime. I sent them a couple of e-mails reagarding their publications and got prompt responses both times. I just contacted them through whatever address they give on their website. Maybe give it another try and see if you get a better response this time. They were very polite to me, but I thought $80 was a bit too high for a subscription. Of course, they are located in France, so maybe that's not so high when one considers that it has to be shipped over. |
