![]() So apparently, my interest in bananas has spread to my in-laws who are now wanting to grow bananas as well...they are interested in growing them indoors in south florida and want something not too tall.
From my readings, it seems that color mini is a good option..anyone have opinions or experience with them? |

![]() My measly experience with a high color mini ended when mine died two days ago.
It was unusually small when I got it in the mail, and never took off.

![]() This is not an ideal plant for fruit. The closet thing is Super Dwarf, but depending on the height they have i would reccomend just a regular Dwarf Cavendish.

![]() SDC never bloomed for me. I may have good chances with Hi Color mini, as it has been hyped to produce fruits a lot bigger than SDC at a lower height. I plan to keep these in pots and bring in to our garage during the winter. I will just try with one and see if fruiting is possible. I don't want big bunches of fruits, only possibility of fruiting and tasting. If after 3 years it yields nothing, it will be pulverized into my compost pile just like most of my cavendishes are right now.
